Process Improvement Engineer

Manufacturing and Fabrication facility in the Greenwood, SC area is looking to hire an experienced Process Improvement Engineer to support an existing facility and help with the build of a second local facility.
The Process Improvement Engineer will manage, plan, and direct by conducting research and analysis to develop new strategies and ideas to improve manufacturing processes as well as the company's facilities.
Manages all capital projects from the initial scope to preliminary and ongoing estimates, and into construction and completion, while prioritizing efficiency and profitability.
Will work with Maintenance and Production to develop and maintain an environment that fosters compliance and continuous improvement in Safety, Process Quality, and Productivity.
Participate and coordinate with other departments and/or members of management to determine opportunities for growth and development.
Job Duties:
Support all elements of the Business System and the annual planning cycle.
Research as-is state of asset management processes and procedures and develop strategies for improvement in target areas on a periodic basis.
Once areas for improvement have been established drive development of future state plans, manufacturing strategies, and cross-functional processes to streamline policies and procedures.
Improve internal processes, productivity, quality, and logistics between different operations and suppliers.
Support the achievement of key business drivers and key strategic initiatives.
Lead and assist maintenance in resolving equipment malfunctions, troubleshoot process problems, and organize and implement preventative maintenance procedures.
Implement a down-time tracking system to assist management in priorities OEE optimization efforts.
Maintain Plant Security, Burglar Alarms, Fire Alarms, Doors, Fences and Key Administration.
Manage Continuous Improvement projects and facilitate training for employees involved in supporting each initiative.
Utilize and establish best practices to identify and manage timelines, risks, dependencies, resource utilization and escalation points of future and ongoing projects.
Works closely with sub-contractors, define the scope of their use and closely monitor progress.
Serve as member of Safety Committee and Waste Treatment Team.
Participate and sit-in on multiple department meetings or committee meetings to aid in establishing transparent communication and identifying areas for improvement and/or engineering support.
Provide technical and engineering support to all departments should the need be identified.
Participate in short-term improvement projects, which involve high impact short turnaround productivity blitzes.
Responsible for complying with all required documentation relating to QS/ISO 9000.

Job Requirements Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering and 2
years of experience or 5-years of experience in processs improvement and project management in a manufacturing, maintenance, or construction setting.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and knowledge of standard drafting practices necessary to produce working drawings.
Ability to use Microsoft Office products, such as Word and Excel.
Ability to learn company specific software.
Above average written and verbal communication skills.
Good organizational skills.
Ability to manage several projects at any given time.
Ability to delegate and supervise subordinates.
Ability to work well without supervision.
Ability to analyze and solve complex problems.
Ability to work well with employees in all departments and positions.
